Last Sunday saw a return to the wreck of the SS Europa off Cloch Lighthouse, I last dived this wreck in 2006. I was interested to see if there would be any change to the structure, marine life or underwater conditions and water clarity. I can report that conditions remain very similar, the section of my log for underwater visibility remains at “2-3 metres and dark”.
We have added a new page to the site for the Europa which is supported by some colour photographs of the wreck. You can find out more information on the Europa here https://www.scottishshipwrecks.com/europa/
Later in the day, and thanks to dive operators Wreckspeditions of Dunoon, I was able to dive on the wreck of a small wooden MFV lying off the marina in the Holy Loch. Lying in 14m the wreck sits a maximum of 2.5 metres from the gently sloping mud seabed. Here are a few pictures of the wreck.
