A recent dive on the SS Beagle off Great Cumbrae gave me the opportunity to take and upload some photos of the wreck. Unfortunately the visibility was not as good as expected, but you have to work with what you are given.
Thanks go to Naomi Watson for organising the weekend. In addition divers were Jim Burke, Julie Green, Fiona Watson, Ronnie Scrymgeour and thanks also to Jason of Wreckspeditions – Dunoon for logistics and excellent shot work, remember those bamboo cups next time……
The weekends itinery included dives on the bucket dredger SS Greenock, SS Beagle and an unknown mark in Loch Striven. Unfortunately the visibility on the latter target proved to be less than a meter, so diving was switched to the MGB off Brackley Point, where the vis much improved to around 2 metres.
